Announcing Our 2024 Holiday Project

This year marks our fifth annual Smallstep Holiday Project, and this one is focused on device identity. And this year, we are giving away an Apple AirPods Max!
The details
This year, we've added a little Capture the Flag-style twist. To enter the giveaway, you'll have to do a bit of sleuthing:
- Get a certificate from

- You will need either a YubiKey and any computer, or an Apple Silicon Mac
- You will need two hash values, which can be found on our Discord in #holiday-project-2024
- You might need

The legal stuff
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited and subject to applicable laws. Entry period beginning December 24th, 2024, ending January 17th, 2025 at 11:59pm PST. Entrants must complete the 2024 project and provide an email address to enter, and a mailing address may be required to receive prize. Project completion is required for entry and equivalent to one entry per person. An additional entry may be submitted by completing the 2024 project survey. Winner will be selected at random before January 31st, 2025 and notified via email. Prize will be shipped directly to the winner if in the United States; any winning individual outside of the US may be provided with a comparable item or gift card at the discretion of Smallstep. Smallstep may modify or terminate the sweepstakes at any time. Entrants agree to hold Smallstep harmless from liability.

Carl Tashian (Website, LinkedIn) is an engineer, writer, exec coach, and startup all-rounder. He's currently an Offroad Engineer at Smallstep. He co-founded and built the engineering team at Trove, and he wrote the code that opens your Zipcar. He lives in San Francisco with his wife Siobhan and he loves to play the modular synthesizer 🎛️🎚️
